Monster's the Baaa's comes to Mip TV

Monster at Mip TVThe series, which is available in 104 x 12 mins. and 52 x 24 min. formats, is a multicultural family sitcom starring fluffy sheep, co-produced by Ceidiog, S4C and Al Jazeera Children’s Channel.

Monster debuts Indian Fables at Mip

Indian Fables, a new 3D CG animated series from Accel Animation Studios, will debut at MIP-TV courtesy of Monster Distributes.

The series, for children 3-8, is available in high-definition and was recently acquired by Disney Channel in India for an April 5 premiere.

The series is based on Thirukural, a famous collection of ancient couplets that has been translated into nearly every language on Earth. It also features a colorful cast of animal character who explore universal themes such as friendship, generosity and honesty.

Monster snatches Al Jazeera sitcom

Ireland's Monster Distributes has taken international rights to Baaas, a family sitcom from Al Jazeera Children's Channel, Welsh-language broadcaster S4C and prodco Cynhyrchiadau Ceidiog Creations.

Baaas (104x12'/52x24'), a live-action preschool show about an extended multicultural family of fun-loving sheep, will be available with Christmas, Ramadan and Eid specials.

The show has been airing across the Arab region and in European territories on Al Jazeera Children's Channel's preschool service since early last year. It debuted on S4C in autumn 2008 as Welsh-language series Meees.

Monster's slate also includes animated series Birdy, Abby Careful, I'm an Animal and I'm a Dinosaur; non-dialogue animated shows Jungle Beat and Gazoon; short film Harvie Krumpet; and series Jasper Morello and Give Up Yer Aul Sins.

Monster Distributes inks raft of sales

Ireland's Monster Distributes has scored a raft of global sales across its animation catalogue.

Now on board for animated dialogue-free series Gazoon are ABC Australia, Canal Panda Portugal and Czech DVD company Urania for Czech Republic and Slovakia. Canal Panda Portugal has also snapped up Lifeboat Luke and I'm an Animal. and Urania has taken on toon Jungle Beat.

Italy's RAI will be airing short series The Happy Duckling, TV3 Catalunya has licensed Christmas special Once Upon a Stable, NBC Universal Italy now has Banjo The Woodpile Cat, and J&E multimedia in Taiwan licensed animated series Ben and Izzy for Cable, IPTV and DVD.
